Maribel Torres-Pinero is the founder of Lumix CPAs and Advisors. Prior to starting the company, she worked in the tax division of a Big 4 Accounting firm and as auditor of large government agencies. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and has been a CPA licensed in Maryland and Puerto Rico since 1990.

Maribel has experience as founder, treasurer and board member of several not-for-profit organizations in the DC metro area and has been recognized for her contributions to businesses by the Small Business Administration and the Montgomery County Government. As a peer reviewer for the Standards of Excellence for the Maryland Association of Non-for-Profits, Maribel sits on a panel of experts who evaluates an organization's qualifications to be certified within the Standards of Excellence. An organization's evaluation covers many areas of operations for which Maribel can use her expertise, including Human Resources, Financial and Legal, Governing Board and Conflict of Interest.

As a member of the Digital CPA Advisory Board of the AICPA, Maribel contributes to the AICPA's mission of transforming the profession's use of technology and leading in the trusted business advisor role. Maribel enjoys spending time with her family and freinds, cooking and outdoor activities.
